Five to seven dry bay leaves
One tablespoon of dried rosemary
Two decilitres (approximately 200 milliliters) of olive oil
3. Instructions for Preparation
Step 1: Crush the bay leaves and rosemary to release their essential oils. You can do this using a mortar and pestle or the back of a spoon in a bowl.
Step 2: Combine the crushed herbs with olive oil in a small saucepan.
Step 3: Heat the mixture over low heat for about 5 minutes. Be careful not to let it boil or burn, as this can destroy the beneficial properties of the oil.
Step 4: Remove from heat and let the mixture steep for several hours or overnight.
Step 5: Strain the oil through a fine sieve or cheesecloth into a clean jar or bottle. Make sure to press the herbs to extract as much oil as possible.
4. Using the Herbal Oil
Apply the oil to affected areas, gently massaging it into the skin. Use it once or twice daily.
For best results, apply the oil after a warm shower to help your skin absorb it better.
5. Storage
Store the remaining oil in a cool, dark place. A dark glass bottle is ideal to preserve the active compounds in the oil.
