As with cloves, essential oils are used to mask unpleasant odours while giving the room a pleasant scent.
You can choose from a range of aromas such as rosemary, lavender, lemongrass, mint or eucalyptus.
Pour a few drops into a spray bottle filled with water, then spray the essential oil to freshen up the atmosphere in the toilet.
White vinegar to remove odours – Source: spm
White vinegar:
An excellent disinfectant, white vinegar is also a remarkable deodoriser. Like bleach, which is best avoided, it can also be used to thoroughly clean the whole house.
To put an end to persistent odours, use a sponge soaked in the product to wipe over the edges of your toilet.
As well as removing bacteria and mould, the stench will also disappear. For dirt that you feel is too stubborn to remove, use a toilet brush to remove the slightest trace.
For drying, use a microfibre cloth.
Of course, this method will come in handy for anything that smells of washing machines, dishwashers or kitty litter.
Baking soda:
To deodorise with bicarbonate of soda, simply sprinkle some in the bowl and leave it to work for about half an hour.
Then scrub the rims and sides with a toilet brush to get rid of any unpleasant odours at the same time.
This is a highly effective disinfectant that can be used to clean more than one surface in the home.
